Trainee James offered Apprenticeship after achieving vital qualifications

Twenty-three-year-old James Parker was introduced to Skills Training UK by his local Jobcentre Plus.

After achieving qualifications in English, maths, first aid and hospitality he has now secured an Apprenticeship at the Grand Hotel, Brighton.

James said: ”Skills training UK have helped me achieve vital qualifications needed to progress my career.”

As part of his Traineeship, James attended Skill’s Training UK’s Centre in Brighton and undertook 100 hours of practical work experience at The Grand Hotel, Brighton.

“I have been painting, decorating, plumbing, changing lights and administrating general maintenance around the hotel. It has really helped me understand how I should present myself in a workplace, and how to manage certain situations,” he said.

The combination of classroom teaching and practical learning has helped him develop his future career prospects.
