Dudley was filled with smiles on Wednesday as Skills Training UK successfully opened their new Dudley centre on the 25th of January 2023. The event was held at Priory House, 2 Priory Rd, Dudley DY1 1HH and was open to the public from midday to 8pm.
The event began with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Skills Training UK CEO, Guy Ballantine, and was followed by activities running throughout the day from both their Youth and Adult provisions.
The Mayor of Dudley, Sue Greenaway, was in attendance and officially opened the centre by cutting the ribbon. Adult learning Tutors were available to discuss free courses for adults with any interested learners.
Learners, aged 16+ were in attendance to discuss their learning journey with visitors. Claire Bottomley, Centre Manager of Skills Training UK Dudley, said:
“The learners that helped during the day and evening were fantastic and very polite and well behaved. I was really proud of them.”
During the open day, each room was set up with a rolling presentation projected on the walls, providing information on the provisions being offered. These included information on programme areas, unit breakdowns, progression routes, photos of learners in classroom and work placement activities, and options for delivery and support.
Guy Ballantine, Skills Training CEO, said at the ceremony:
“We’ve been operating in Dudley for about 7 years but anyone who saw the previous premises will know it needed a bit of an upgrade! We were so excited when the opportunity for moving into the amazing space that is Priory House came up- we grabbed it with both hands!” Skills Training UK would like to extend a special thank you to all who attended and made the opening of our Dudley centre a success.
