This Level 1 qualification in Essential Digital Skills qualification is for people who want to lay solid foundations for a new, or better, career with an in-depth understanding of digital activites.

Extra support with English and Maths if you need it.
What does a learner need to do?
Attend regular classes either in-person or online.
Allow time for project work and study each week.
Talk to your training for support and guidance if you need more support.
Bring a positive attitude to class and any work experience to make sure you get the most from the opportunity.
Course content
The course comprises five core units to complete and achieve:
Using devices and handling information
- Learners will: use devices, find and evaluate information, manage and store information, identify and solve technical problems, develop digital skills
Creating and editing
- Learners will: create and edit documents, create and edit digital media, process numerical data
Communicating
- Learners will: communicate and share, manage traceable online activities
Transacting
- Learners will: use online services, buy securely online
Being safe and responsible online
- Learners will: protect privacy, protect data, be responsible online, learn digital wellbeing
Eligibility
No prior knowledge, understanding or skills are necessary.
Qualifications
This Level 1 qualification in Essential Digital Skills demonstrates an individual’s ability to manage devices and files, to become vigilant of online threats, and lay the foundations for further study at Level 2.
Assessment
To pass the course you will need to pass two internally marked assessments which are externally set. They are available as on-demand assessments.
