What does a learner need to do?
Attend regular classes either in-person or online.
Allow time for project work and study each week.
Talk to your trainer for support and guidance if you need more support.
Bring a positive attitude to class and any work experience to make sure you get the most from the opportunity.
Course content
The course has nine units you will need to complete for your qualification:
Examine the importance of preferred methods of communication; investigate barriers to communication and issues of confidentiality.
Consider the benefits of reflection in your work; examine your own attitudes and beliefs and the benefits of a personal development plan.
This unit gives learners an understanding of inclusion, discrimination and sources of information and support.
Learn the signs of abuse, actions to take and national policies and agencies in the Safeguarding network.
Examine the dilemmas that may arise between the duty of care and the rights of an individual to make choices and take acceptable risks.
Navigate relationships in social care settings, understand the scope of the job and develop effective working partnerships.
Understand how person-centred care is at the heart of best practise in adult social care. Investigate consent in a social care context and how to support active participation.
Examine key legislation, policies and the roles of various professionals.
Learn good practise for recording, storing and sharing information in a social care setting.
Eligibility
No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before learners register for this qualification.
Qualifications
Level 2 award from a nationally recognised exam board
Assessment
The units will be assessed by a combination of centre-designed assessments and online tests. The qualification and units are at pass grade.
