Supply Chain Warehouse Operative Level 2

Warehouse operatives carry out a range of moving, packaging and stock-taking roles and duties in a warehouse environment.

Work activities include taking deliveries, checking for damaged/missing items, storing goods, moving stock, picking/packing orders, loading goods for dispatch, and maintaining stock records.

Warehouse operatives are required to use safely a range of equipment, machinery and vehicles, such as mechanical racking systems, materials handling equipment (MHE) or fork-lift trucks.

Typical Job Roles: Warehouse Operative, Warehouse Worker, Warehouse Operator, Freight Distribution, Warehouse Picker.

What does an employer need to do?
  • Provide the learner with the opportunity to take part in work and projects which to produce a substantial portfolio of evidence required for Apprenticeship assessment and completion.
  • Take part in progress reviews at regular intervals.
  • Have some involvement in the project(s) being undertaken.
  • Allow the apprentice an agreed amount of classroom time.

Eligibility criteria

Apprentices without Level 1 English and maths will need to achieve this level and take the test for Level 2 English and maths prior to taking the Independent End Point Assessment.

Qualifications and professional recognition

Level 2 competency.

End Point Assessment

To successfully complete the apprenticeship, the learner needs to pass an independent End Point Assessment which consists of two distinct assessment methods:
