What does a learner need to do?
Course content
The course has three units you need to study and an option of five specialist units to choose from, depending on your course provider. The core units are:
Develop your knowledge and understanding of the hospitality industry, the products and services it provides and how the industry is connected to other businesses.
Explore the importance of team working and customer service and employer requirements for personal conduct and presentation.
Learn about procedures and regulations for food safety and health and safety. Identify and manage risks and learn how to comply with legislation and documentation requirements.

Eligibility
No prior knowledge, understanding, skills or qualifications are required before learners register for this qualification.
Qualifications
Level 2 BTEC First in Hospitality at Level 2 Distinction, Merit or Pass.
Assessment
Unit one Introducing the Hospitality Industry will be externally assessed. The other units will be internally assessed during the course.
