Apprenticeships for... Other Industries
From removal firms and photo reproduction, through to customer service and utilities management, Skills Training UK works with all our employer clients to tailor apprenticeship training programmes which address business needs.
We have a proven track-record in improving productivity – working alongside employers to draw up specific apprenticeship programmes for their relevant sectors.
By focussing on the Kaizen approach to continuous improvement, our Business Improvement Techniques (BIT) empower staff with the essential skills needed to deliver change and meet core objectives – helping to identify new methods and ways of thinking to work more efficiently and effectively on the shop floor.
Modules include health and safety in the workplace, manual handling, and how to apply good housekeeping and safe working practice to maintain an effective environment. There are also sessions on teamwork, problem solving and the importance of establishing productive working relationships, alongside those looking at 5S workplace organisational techniques, how to identify and eliminate waste and how to sustain improvements in the workplace.
The training allows employees to put what they have learnt into practice – identifying areas in their own processes that can be made more efficient. The Kaizen techniques are used, with solutions often resulting in cost savings or quality improvements.
Team leaders are also encouraged to coach individual teams in what they’ve learnt – auditing each other’s work and ensuring the skills are passed down to other employees.
So, whether you’re looking to improve the skills of an experienced workforce, or want to inspire younger members of your team to fulfil their true potential, you can be sure that our dedicated apprenticeship assessors will have your best interests at heart.
