Levels offered: Level 2 (intermediate)
This Level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Improvement Techniques is part of our Improving Operational Performance qualification. It is designed for people wishing to work within the manufacturing industry in an office based role. Manufacturing is one of the largest industries out there - nearly everything we use, eat, drink, or travel in has been manufactured. As a Business Improvements Technique (BIT) apprentice, you could focus on either the engineering or manufacturing aspect of production.
This Apprenticeship covers roles such as BIT administration operative, who looks at the continuous improvement of manufacturing processes leading to higher quality, reduced cost, and reduced delivery lead times; a BIT shop-floor operative, who analyses assembly techniques to optimise the process, improving quality, cost and delivery; a BIT quality control operative, who monitors quality in the manufacturing process, generating statistical and graphic data to measure and ensure continuous quality improvement or a BIT materials handler, whose job it is to ensure part-machined or assembled products are delivered at the right time and place for further machining or assembly operations.
